My experience

Beyond my work as a film composer, I’ve found a small corner of the internet where I get to share what I love—music, storytelling, and the creative process behind it all. Over the years, I've become one of the younger faces in the online composer community, creating short-form content that blends music with technology and visuals. It’s been a great way to connect with other creatives, and I’ve been lucky to build a community around that.I’ve had the chance to collaborate with brands like Spitfire Audio, Novation, Expressive E, and several others that I deeply admire. I’ve also worked on projects for larger companies, including a campaign for the Olympics, thanks to playbook creative! So far, I’ve scored well over 100 projects—from emotional pieces to more experimental stuff—and each one has taught me something new about how to communicate through music. I split my time between Costa Rica and Europe, and I’m always learning, growing, and trying to make the next project better than the last.

RUBEN CAMACHO

About me

Hey, I’m Ruben.I’m a composer — born in Costa Rica, now based in Europe.
But truth is, none of that matters as much as why I do this.
I’ve always believed music is one of the most powerful ways to tell a story. It’s not just sound — it’s emotion, connection, memory.
That belief took me from a tiny bedroom studio to working with companies like Spitfire Audio, Expressive E, Novation Instruments… and even creating music for the Olympics.
But along the way, I noticed something.
There are so many people with talent, with something to say — but they’re stuck. Not because they aren’t good enough…
…but because they don’t know where to begin, what tools to use, or if they’re even “allowed” to try.
So I started The Composer Guide — not as a company, but as a promise.
A promise to help aspiring composers get started, no matter their background or budget.
A space where you don’t need expensive gear or perfect knowledge — just the will to create.
If you're someone who wants to tell stories through music — whether you're a director looking for a score, or a beginner wondering how to write your first piece —
I’m here to help.
Let’s start the conversation.
One note at a time.
